what are you using to program the radio?

dos RSS or CPS?

there are documented bandsplit hacks for both versions of the software to extend out the range of the radio.

you *MAY* not be able to lock up that high, but in my experience, the MCS line is good for well into the 480 band w/o mods.

transmit power is going to be a little lower, but rx performance has always been acceptable.

The MCX780 is a Waris series radio, so it won't go outta band, or at least if anyone knows how to do it, they aren't saying. Sorry man.

yes they sure do, I`ve had both MCX760`s and MCX780`s working up to 487 Mhz (403-470 versions) in Brisbane there are quite a few of my old 760`s 780`s on UHF CB
