Do you have a picture of these radios? Just curious to see what one looks like! Never heard of the model number MT6000E.

The HT600E, which i have a UHF version of, uses the MT1000 RSS. If this radio is built on the same type of controller it's possible it uses one of the Genesis series RSS.

I haven't heard of the MT6000E either, but suspect it likely needs MT2100 or GP900 RSS or some other overseas software...not the North American MTSX.

After googling ht6000e, it apears to be a jedi.

Correct Jedi varient made specifically for some UK police forces all in UHF High. Haven't a clue as to which RSS to use, they may even have there own in which case you may be out of luck as /\/\ is unlikely to sell this due to them being specially comisioned. Have you tried MTS2000 RSS?

re rss for mt6000e

Post by john g8xgs »

i have tried mtsx6.07 it reads but says codeplug too new for varient, i have yet to try gp900-99 or any other, i will let you know in due course where i get to photos will be available for our north american friends next week
but if you take the badge of an mtx838 you would not be able to tell the difference.

There are later versions of MTS2000 software for Windows (CPS). I'd try that, just to see what happens.

the story unfolds

Post by john g8xgs »

when the HT600E went out of production the various uk police forces wanted somthing to replace it "at short notice" motorola looked at the situation,

it had to have 99 channals , the only hanheld available in the uk at the time was the gp900-99, enter the mt6000e

a rebadged gp900-99 = mt6000e and it uses same rss

i wonder how much more cost the mt6000e was?
