Belt clip type for XTS3000 battery

Post by n6fnp »

I just got my first XTS3000 radio. It came with a NTN8299B battery, but there was
no belt clip.

Are there any belt clips from other radios that would work on this? I tried to put one
on from a Jedi MT2000 radio, but it didn't look like it was going to fit.

I believe the belt clip is specific to the XTS3000/5000 batteries. I know for sure that the jedi series one does not fit. It looks like it might be the part that slides into the radio is a slightly different size and shape.

On a side note; be wary of the ones on ebay. I bought one a while back and when it arrived it was a molded plastic piece of crap. Definitely spend the extra money for a genuine one. You dont want to hang you $1000+ radio on 6 cents worth of plastic.

Also, the cheap molded ones will not work with the sexy ultra-thin LiIon batteries.
