when using an stx with a public safety mic does the radio antenna get disabled????

or do both the mic antenna and radio antenna work simultaniously???

also under the rebanding plan will these still be useful for anything????

Simplex work or conventional system????

When the PS speaker mic is pluged into the radio, the radio's antenna is disabled and RF is routed to the PS spk/mic.'s antenna.

If your trunked Smartnet or SmartZone system uses control channels that are all in the range 853.5125 (or 854.0125) to 860.9875, then I believe that your STX will continue to work on that system even after rebanding.

Some folks diagree, based on the notion that rebanding changes the FCC-assigned 800 channel numbers. In fact, I don't believe that SmartNet uses those channel numbers to designate the assigned voice channel in an OSW. I also believe that this is consistent with the definition and disposition of "Category D" in the Motorola handout entitled "Impact of Rebanding to [sic] Motorola Systems and Subscribers," dated January 10, 2005.

I guess time will tell who is right.
