Spectra VHF ,high power

Post by Dodge71 »

I have just had it programed from a local dealer. It has the A7 head, however the mon button doesn't work. Could this be a program error, or the wrong head? I would like to adjust the squelch. If I hold the home button It will let me enter mode numbers, so the key pad works.

If the MON button is not programmed correctly in the control head programming, then yes, it's probably a programming error. The only way to know for sure is to read the radio and see what the control head page reveals.

An easier approach might be to call the dealer back, the "who 'dunnit", and have him look at the archived file. He should be able to tell you over the phone which button has the Mon feature.

As an added bonus (for his embarassment if "8" isn't it) you could say that its not a standard layout as almost all use that key for monitor. Also, you could remind him that you can't adjust the squelch threshold until you have that standard feature enabled.
