Heres the situation:
We currently use a MTR2000 with a landline card to tie in to our dispatcher who is 20 miles away. We use a 2 wire interconnect. We are looking to add a second system to do exactly the same thing, but dont want to spend that much for another MTR2000. Is it possible to do the same thing with a GM300 or CDM1250??? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Jay,
Yes it is possible to do DC/Tone wireline control with a 2 wire interface to a simplex or radio such as GM300, CDM750 etc. I can show you an even cheaper and more reliable method using the internet and your LAN that will let you eliminate your monthly leased line/phone charges and do it with your LAN/internet for free. It is just as reliable and secure (inherently DES encrypted) We have refrences in public safety/law enforcement who are using the system every day and are in love with it. It will save you a boatload of cash per month and once the system is installed it will let supervisors out of radio range Talk/Recieve on your system from any computer with internet connection. If you want more info let me know.
Regards,
Steve

If you don't have Internet or LAN connectivity available at the site and you want to stay with a 2 wire lease line, CPI Communications makes both DC and Tone "Remote Termination Panels" that will interface almost any radio to 2 wire remote.
