CDM1550 LS+ VHF programming

I am trying to program a CDM1550+ LS which has been nothing but troubles.
First the dispaly does not work, then the draw unit itself did not work ( we got the remote head config ), and now a programming issue.
Well we are only using it for conventional purposes and programmed 16 channels for now into the radio. Now I have programmed many conv ( non LS) models before and know about making personalities and naming them to zones.
So once again I did this and programmed the radio. Well first everythng seemed ok but when the radio seemed to reset it acted strange.
The dispaly went blank, as normal, you hear the normal beep beep, but the dispaly stays blank, then you hear another beep beep, and the dispaly comes back on. You see the channel name programmed and then it switches to UNPROGRAMMED on the scene. In addition once it powers back on you see the little radio/passport icon on the screen.
Now I checked the zone assignment and it is set for conventional and not LS trunking. In addition I have nothing set for LS trunking.
So I guess I am trying to figure out what the heck is going on. I am using professional series software and I do not think it is the issue. I can read and program the radio yet it always does what is described above.
Does anybody have any ideal what could be wrong???
