HT1550 radio locks on key up - bug?

Post by ku4zs1 »

My brand new HT1550 UHF with latest firmware is doing some strange things every once in a while. Sometimes when I key up for the first time in a while (if the radio has been on the charger, for example), the radio does not unkey when I let go of the PTT. I have to turn the radio off and back on. It is not real often, but often enough to make me wonder, being that it is a brand new radio. I do not believe that I have the "sticky PTT" option on. Where exactly is that in the CPS so I can make sure its not on?

Yes, it's a bug. Solution, per the SRN somewhere else on the board is to upgrade to the latest firmware, or- what I would do, is NOT use the radio when it's in the charger!

Maybe I'm alone in having enough spare batteries to not have to run the radio while charging.

Hmm... so just don't leave the radio on while it is in the charger? Or, how bout this... if I do leave the radio on and take it out of the charger, turn it off and back on before using? Would that avoid the problem?

or just not leave it on in the charger.

if you absolutely HAVE TO leave it on in the charger (sigh), i think what you posted will work.
