Hello all. I have a question here.
First off, I have an XTS3000 VHF (H09KDC9PW5AN)
What I would like to know is if I can force a RSS Codeplug into it so I don't have to use CPS. (Currently is has a CPS-orientated cpg in it)
What would I need to do this? And how hard would it be?
(I already have RSS, cables, and RIB)

Have you tried to read it with RSS? As long as it wasn't programmed with CPS above a certain version, then it will still work (I don't know the version cut-off though).
If it reads, then you're good to go.

I believe the last dual RSS/CPS version was RSS R09.00 and CPS R02.00. If you're into CPS R03 or R04, you're hosed on going back to RSS.
Personally, I don't see why one would want to run RSS for routine day-to-day radio maintenance. The CPS is so much easier and doesn't require digging out the dinosaur computer...

Well, I would use the CPS if I had it, tho. It's not really going to be for day-to-day maintenance, just a 1 time programming I need done to square away a few channels.

I eventually signed up with Motorola for an account and just used CPS.
