ASTRO Spectra/W3 not powering up

I am working on a Astro Spectra that seems to be a W3, HHCH, from the ID numbers and serial tag. It does not turn on, eveything else seems OK, the intial power application draws about 350 mA, like a reg. Spectra, for about 10 seconds going to about 10 mA.

I tried the jumper A+ and switched A+, the HHCH still nothing buttons and display 'dead'. Looks like the radio is doing something, draws about 400 mA with periodic jumps to 500 mA like it is 'looking' for something.

So, after searching here, is there a way to run the radio less the head, or?

800 low power, like new W3 HHCH, dash mount and dual DB25 connectors with the Key load jack on the radio face.

I don't know what you mean exactly by your were jumpering A+ and switch A+ but do you have power applied to the DB15 in the rear of the radio just like you would for a dashmount radio?

Unless it has been blown to a W4, W5, W7 or W9, then the W3 head will not operate it, as the interconnect boards are different. We may need more info here.

I did check the front interface board's number and it is for the W3 ver radio. Only strange thing is the number is in felt tip marker over the factory stamping, but it did match the small paper tag with the barcode and date.

I'll get the number to make sure.

The front interconnect board is a HLN6459D.
