Does the X9000 stay muted when receiving a signal with DES if it does not have the proper key for that transmission?

I noticed this behavior on the Saber and an idea hit me. If the X9000 also behaved this way i could then put DES in the X9000 and load it with any key so that i don't have to listen to the undecoded DES transmissions when scanning the local law enforcement frequencies. It would be a heck of a lot easier on the ears that's for sure!

yes, it does have some sort of "proper code detect" that will keep the radio muted (albeit "busy" - and stopped on the channel if in scan... if i recall)

Ok. So it stays on the active channel but remains muted when receiving a signal that it doesn't have the key for?

I can live with that, better than listening to the bursts of noise when they are using it.

I guess i haven't watched the Saber while scanning to see if it stops there or continues.

Now i just have to find the secure option board and a DES hybrid, i think. If anyone can shed some light on the part numbers needed for internal securenet let me know. Better yet, if you have an internal securenet board that is DES or DES-XL and want to sell it let me know on that also.
