The HT1250 I just purchased has a model @ AAH25RDF9AA5AN, and is supposed to come with the full keypad.
Should this model # with full keypad have 128 channels?
AND
After some confusing lit I found on the net, should I be able to program 128 tx/rx channels into this radio or are some only for rx?
I have the need for 21 channels starting at 460.125 up to 460.450 with the ability to rx and tx on all those channels.
Should the listed model # be able to accomplish the above?

well, first of all, the model # you have listed is *NOT* for a full keypad radio... it's a 6 button display radio WITHOUT a DTMF keypad.
yes, you should be able to program 128 channels into the radio, tx/rx or rx only.. doesn't matter... just max of 128.

hmm... either the ad was wrong or the radio has a kit installed on it. We'll see when it shows up.
Pro Radio CPS R06.04.00 , indicates a 2003 copyright
Is that the latest?
And THANKS for the reassurance about the 128 channels. That's was I was most worried about. I can always put a new refurb kit on it.

Umm... no, but that will probably be fine for your ebay radio... It wont let you ruin the radio anyway, it will say codeplug too new for this application.

well the radio has software version R01.00.01 in it. Can R06.04.00 be used to program channels in this radio or does the firmware have to be updated first?

There are several flaws with the HT line with early firmware... most everything has been ironed out by this time.
Several Audio issues, RF performance problems, among numerous other things have been addressed since the radio came out- Some under an SRN for free Depot-Repair. Check the serial #

Hi guys,
Well, this is my first post, but I've been lurking around for years. I have three full keypad HT-1250s I bought new back in 1998 (or maybe it was 1999), and you guessed it, the firmware version is R01.00.01 At least I think it's the firmware, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when I go to version on the radio, this is what shows up on the display. The radios have worked fine for me, but from reading posts it seems I should have the software upgraded. What is the best way for me to have this done? Send the radios off to Mother M or go to the radio shop I bought them from?
Thanks for your help,
Luis.

Taking your radio to your dealer would be quicker and cheaper. I work for one and do this all the time. Also the newest verson software is 6.05.03 and 6.6 should be coming out soon.
