We have an upcoming install where the customer wants to "hide" a BC-796D scanner under the seat (due to lack of Havis console space) and route the audio through a Data 911 computer system. The computer will be running Trunkstar scanner control software so the customer can virtually control the scanner's full features except volume/mute. Would this work; route an audio cable from the "line out" on the scanner to the
"line in" on the Data 911, and then use, say, a Radio Shack amplified extension speaker coming out of the "line out" of the Data 911. This would allow the customer to control the audio through the Windows sound system? Any thoughts, ideas, concerns, comments, questions appreciated in advance. Stay safe all.

it would work fine... avoid ground loops.. in fact.. use a 1:1 audio isolation transformer for best results......

I use a similar hookup, to a data911 MDT, except using the ICOM PCR-1000....

Where can we purchase the transformer? Where in-line is it placed? Thanks for your advice.
