Can you change the plastic housing and the key portion to give the CDM1250 all function keys like the CDM1550? What are the part numbers for the plastic and the keys(buttons). The button kits described in the accessories list are not what I need.

Nope. Two totally different sets of operating firmware. Probably some significant underlying hardware issues too.

Likewise, you can not turn a CDM750 into a 1250 or 1550.
