Another A7 Backlight question

I just replaced my A7 control head and interface board from an older standard to a newer nechanced. I can not get the RSS to go to the enhanced from standard, it just skips over that position. It is not a 'bootleg copy". What am I doing wrong to get the backlight option.
Thanks
Steve

After replacing the control head did you read the radio or load a saved codeplug?
I changed mine from a standard to enhanced, read the radio, and then it gave me the option to change it.

Steve sent me his codeplug. After looking at it I suspected it was either hacked or an old MLM version. Steve emailed me back and the MLM version is 2.09 which is very old.
The codeplug wont even allow the siren or vrs options to be enabled. I suspect his only resolve will be to get a newer MLM.
Anyone care to confirm this hunch or have any other suggestions for Steve?

You are correct.
With firmware that old, it may involve a command board change as well, there were some early variations out there.

He has decided just to change the jumper on the control head board to have the backlighting come on when powered up.
