I just picked up a used Centracom Dispatcher desktop console for very cheap. It's in excellent condition. I just wanted it as a collectors item. I cleaned it up and would really like to get it to turn on and maybe set the clock. Does anyone know the part number for the AC adapter to power it up?? And where I could find one?

Then again...what would it take besides a power supply to get it to work with a CDM 1250 UHF radio and a CDM1250 VHF radio??

I'm new at this and any information would be greatly apperciated.

Centracom Dispatch Consoles are floor mounted units. Perhaps you have some sort of a T1600 Series Desktop DC or TRC Remote or a Mocom 70 / Mitrek / Flexar Consolette Base Station? There are model and serial numbers on these units to better help identify what you may have in your possession.

if it is the dispatcher model its a desktop. you need the CEB and the proper BIMS to make it work.

the radios are gonna need remote adaptors acording to the type of BIMS you have.

Thanks for the replies it was a big help. I found a company in NJ that makes the power supplies it's call Glob Tek. I was able to get a part number from another ebay posting. the seller took great pictures of the power supply.

The "Dispatcher" was a product Motorola created to sell the Centracom II console to smaller systems at a lower cost. It is comprised of a desktop operator position and a one card cage sized CEB that shipped in a cabinet that looks like an MSF5000.

The same operator position was available for larger systems in which case it carries the name "Compact" instead of "Dispatcher"

If you look at the following item number: 5851561713, which is an ended auction on ebay, the seller has included several photos which show the operator position and the mini-CEB.

If all you have is the operator position you should think of that the same as if all you had was the control head for a mobile radio. Without the brain box, you are not going to do much.

If you do manage to apply power to the operator position you will not be able to set the clock or get it to display time. All it will display is the message "LD" which stands for "Link Down". - In other words it is saying "where is my CEB".

xmo, thanks for that explination. I see what it takes now to get the system to work. The pictures were very helpful. I take it I need a card and a radio to control each frequency that I would want in the console. If that's the case I think it's going to make a great collectors item.
