What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

Do you mean that the radio reboots itself?

We also need:

HOST/DSP info
Flashcode
Model number

Is this a legit radio (tags match internal radio numbers?)

That radio is not going to work very well in Astro Mode, being that it isn't flashed for it.

Options Installed on this Flashcode:

000001-000000-9

H35/G48 Conventional Operation

I am interested in knowing how you were able to program Astro information in the radio.

Actually, by the flashcode its a VSELP radio. The lack of "ASTRO Ready" and lack of "IMBE" makes it VSELP. There was no option number ASTRO-VSLEP.

If both radio's have the same flashcode, clone the codeplug in the working one into the problem radio. I bet something isn't set correctly. Other than that, it may need a trip to the depot.

"ASTRO"

Post by Hartley »

Hi,

Unless the radio is flashed for P25 CAI, "Astro" = VSLEP, which is not the same as P25. Both use C4FM modulation, but the vocoders are different, so they do not communicate.
I have no idea why it is resetting when it receives a P25 digital signal, perhaps there is a firmware fault, or maybe the early VSLEP code gets confused by the P25 bitstream. In any case, you will not be able to receive P25 digital audio with that radio.
