I just received my Astro Cps from Motorola for the XTS3000R, RVN4181R however the CPS I received is RVN4181S & RVN4181SR upgrade. When installed it's the same as my XTS5000 Cps and will not read or write to my XTS3000R. A Motorola rep. advise me this software should program my XTS3000 as well as my XTS5000, Is this true?

XTS 3000 CPS does NOT work with XTS 5000 radios. And the same in reverse. The last version of CPS for the XTS 3000 I saw was R04.01.02.

the latest confirmed version of xts3000/dig saber is 4.01.04. i say confirmed because some are reporting there is a 5.00.00 version just released.
as for XTS5000, the latest is 7.00.00

RVN4182P = R04.01.04 ASTRO SABER/XTS3000 = $276.00
RVN4182R = R05.00.00 ASTRO SABER/XTS3000 = $276.00
Both are still available. My guess is that the ver 5 may contain some rebanding patches for uiplifted radios, but it's just a guess.
