I have two leads from an advisor cradle, and it worked fine.

I was wondering, in general- why you couldn't just use an advisor (or whatever) programming cup and extend the leads to any pager? Don't most all Motorola pagers use a serial interface? I think i remember older pagers using 3 connectors; TX/RX/GND, whereas some newer ones use a 2 pin arrangement; GND and a bidirectional pin which would require commoning the TX/RX pins on the programming cup.
