yes im sure. this thing is driving me crazy. i know there are a 2 voltage regulators on the board and they are puting out the proper voltages. does anyone know if there is a small surface mount fuse on the board somewhere?

No, there is no fuse. What you're seeing is probably the new POS feature Moto has been putting into their radios.
From what I understand they use a 16.8MHz reference oscillator with a MTBF of about 2 weeks and they added special circuitry to the radio that senses when it craps out and instead of giving a fail code so you can have a clue what's going on it just stops the radio from powering up at all.

it was discussed here a while ago

Inject +5Volt DC to IGNITION SENSE pin.
Then turn on the radio.

I've got a dead one sitting here right now (see, it is a pervasive problem), I tried this not really expecting it to work and guess what? Nada. Zilch. Nuttin.
Would you care to elaborate on where this idea comes from and how exactly it's supposed to work?

For safety, use +5Volt DC.
If use +12Volt DC you must becarefull...!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Use Positif Regulator IC type 7805 or 78L05 to convert +5V.

Uh huh. Yes, almost guaranteed it's the reference oscillator, which Motorola doesn't make available to MMS repair shops. Hello depot.

Ok, good enough. If you get it fixed, let us know in a new thread.
