HT1550 Firmware update

Post by Nexrad16 »

Anyone advise as to what it would cost to do a firmware update on an HT1550 VHF?

Can this be done at the local /\/\ dealer & how long would it take?

Never done this before.

Thanks!

most places charge the same price as they would charge to reprogram the radio, it's basically the same thing. it only takes a few minutes and they can probablly do it while you wait.

I would call the local radio shop first to check on the price...I called to get the price to upgrade a uhf ht1250 from firmware 2. to 3.03 and they wanted $250 and said it would take 2 weeks! Fortunately my FD had recently bought a flahs adapter for these radios as well as the ribless programming cable...and my cps ver 6.01 had the firmware update i wanted...just my nickel of info...
