i have a mt2000 with the full display/keypad, mtx8000 with trunk(loaded) and the means to lab em...

the mt is ver2 firmware and i would like to get it to trunk but still have the keypad...

can it be done???

oh, mt is n.o.s. and never been programmed...

there is no toolproof issue either..

We don't see any MT2000 unit's around here, so I can only go by what others have posted here...that being the MT2000 firmware doesn't support trunking at all. If you LAB it, it'll appear to take & you can program it accordingly, but the unit won't trunk. I believe it just 'locks up' when turned to a trunked talkgroup. By all means, let us know what you find with it.
