HT750 problem

Post by ffldcapt »

I have a couple of HT750 portables that when the power is turned off to the radio, and it is in the charger it begins making tones sounds that sound like power up tones. All this is while the radio is turned off. I cannot remember if the speaker mic has to attatched or not. Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this before?? This is a new one on me. IF you have any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That sounds like a problem covered in Motorola SRN-1303. The fix for that one is to replace zener diode VR450 in the radio with a 12 volt zener part # 4802245J77.

HT750 Power On Beep with Radio in the Off Position

Post by BearMan »

Strange condition. The radio makes a power on beep when battery is put on the radio EVEN if the switch is in the OFF Position.

Stranger yet, it does not turn on or off. If the radio is left in the on position then once the battery is attached the radio power on and works fine.

Really stranger is, I removed the volume pot off the board and the radio still makes the power on beep but the radio does not work.??????

Per the radio power distribution block diagram, several circuits are fed before the on-off switch.
