GM900 timeout error

I have 3 GM900's MR304B which i want to program. Therefore, i built the Motorola Universe RSS rib which can be found on the site. I hooked it up to a dos only p2-300 Mhz. I made 2 cables, one with the RJ45 connector and one with the db25 connector.

In both occasions i get a "timeout error" However, when i switch the set off i get a "tx collision error" so i think the rib is ok. Also the led flashes when i hit F2 to read from the radio.

When i searched the forum i saw a few postings which say that the "busy" pin of the rj45 also must be connected. In the diagram of the universal rss only bus -, bus + and ground are used.

Does anyone know what i do wrong?

I built a new rib, g1ivg, but still i have the same problem :"time out error" A tried another pc, this time a 486-25 with clean dos but so far no results. I use rss 06.03.00 and 06.06.00

Can the GM900 be programmed with the homebrew ribs which are displayed on this site?

Check your cables and connections.Check the +/-5V in the RIB.
Youz have to use the full wireRIB with the Bus+ line only, will not work!

Thanks for your reply Andreas. Do you have any idea if the universal rss rib works on a GM900? That rib works with bus+ and bus-
Thanks in advance :)

No,it will not work. The rib needs the BUS+ and inverted BUSY.
You can build your own created RIB,that match your needs or use the original schematic and modify it to your needs.

Andreas, do you have a schematic of a rib that will work for a GM900? I have build 3 of the ribs mentioned on this site (even on other sites as wel)
but none of them worked :( I'm still getting a time out error.

To buy an original rib is too exepensive for me because the only thing i want to do with it is program my 3 GM900's. Once they are programmed the rib becomes useless for me...
