What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

there was an adapter the connected to the UC and terminated to some RG-174 mini cable with either and SO-239 or BNC. Don't recall the part no but I wouldn't be surprised if it is long NLA as the Genesis radios have been out of production for well over a decade.

re reply to genisis adaptor

Post by john g8xgs »

just my luck , trying to keep costs down and they have perhaps ended up with a batch of "end of the line radios" however if they do the job for a year or so no one can complain.

they were not that expensive suprise ,suprise

i know only too well that the genisis went out of prodution quite a while ago in the uk most police forces were using the ht600e(99ch)

when this went out of production motorola brought out the mt6000e to replace it (a jedi top display 99ch) AKA gp900-99 /uhf

get the drift

The Genesis RF adapter is NTN5368A. It provides a 3.5 mm jack (it looks just like the headphone adapter but is marked with an antenna symbol).

It is intended to be used with the NKN6408A cable kit that terminates in a female (SO-239) UHF connector. If you need BNC instead of UHF, you could probably make your own cable with a BNC connector, RG-174 and a 3.5mm plug.

Last I knew, these parts are still available.

re genisis adaptor

i think perhaps it might be the same as gp300, they do use the same type of helical!

No. The RF adapter is for the Genesis accessory/programming connector. There are no adapters available for the antenna connector since no ground is available at the threaded antenna fitting.

The adaptors for the Geneiss series radios uses the options/accessory connector pins on the top of the radio. here is some info:
http://batboard.batlabs.com/viewtopic.php?t=52086

and shows the adaptor for audio earphone, but the same parts are used for the RF adaptor with the pogo pins in a different location.

The other alternative is to get hold of an HT600E Public Safety speaker/mic, has a TNC socket on the mic that connects to the RF contacts on the facilities connector and works with all the Genesis series..
