XTS5000 option question

Post by Mfire39 »

I was reading the XTS5000 product information post on here, and I noticed this near the bottom of the post ---

Q768 ADD: ALTERNATE DISPLAY LABEL $0.00
Includes 1 metallic red, metallic orange, metallic blue, metallic yellow, and reflective silver display label. ONLY available on Models 2 or 3

Does anyone know what this is? Does this mean the silver label sticker that goes around the display can be replaced in a different color? Any help would be great.

Thanks,

-Marc

Yup. I have only found part numbers for black and yellow. Still looking for the other part numbers. The labels are only like $2 or something. Black looks sweet on the black case.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah, I have a spare yellow housing that has the Black label on it around the display. It does look pretty good, and would probably look great on a black housing. I'm very interested to see the other colors and what they look like on the radio. Does anyone else have any other info on these colored labels, or part numbers?

Thanks,

NNTN4071A - 'XTS5000 FACEPLATE', $2.85 on MOL.

It's a pack of 5 faceplates with red, yellow, orange, blue, and reflective silver colors.

Ah. Maybe in my next order.

The black housings REALLY look good with the black stickers.

You could be true whacker and put the reflective one on there.

Nothing like discrete is elite there!

The purpose of these inserts is not really to be yuppie, but to distingish, for instance, between officer and backstep portables that have different programming in them, or pilot radios that do not have the out-of-town channels programmed.

I'm guessing 3385419C01 but I am seeing C07, C08 and C09 but Parts ID would know more about it...

Another popular application of them I've seen is red for radios with Ø, whatever colour for radios that ain't.

NSW State Emergency Service radios are yellow with orange inserts. Orange on yellow is bloody ugly.
