I went through this drill a long, long time ago when I was into MX radios,
and as best I can recall the radio will only do a +5mHz split because that's
the way the commercial radio channels are set up. You can get the MX to do
simplex, or +3mHz (T-band), or +5mHz (normal split) but it's always going to
be a plus shift and not a minus. If anyone else has figured out the answer
to this I'd also like to know how it's do-able.

Well in a channel element one replace the 26.4MHZ ( + 5 MHZ) offset ... gotta do the math but I guess its possible... since the 800MHZ MX s used a 45 MHZ drop .. have to think about that one. Same theory would appy in the S models... ???

Thanks 1A12,

Was thinking that was the way to do it, was
kinda waiting to see if anyone else had done it
before I went and ordered a crystal.

Will wait a little to see if anyone has actually
done it, then do some playing with Xtals.

Thanks to you and Tom!
