What's wrong with the one you have? Or do you just not have one?
Bandsplit??

You are going to need a vocon for your bandsplit, exactly. Unless you know how to convert one.
Need to know the radios model number.
They can be repaired sometimes.
I'm not sure at this point if it's the rf board or vocon.
Can you describe exactly the symptoms of the radio?

The vocon was in a uhf 403-470 I bought it from a PD in ohio it woud transmitt as it should and some times it would receive as it should then all of a sudden it would go dead on receive. the specs are model #HO4RDC9PW5AN, flash is:0000040020002 the rf board is ok, worked with another vocon.

I have a radio similar to that. It never did receive since I have had it.
I traced the problem to a chip on the vocon.
The vocon has two digital inputs from the rf board. Sort of like the discriminator on an analog radio. One of these data lines was shorted
internal to the chip. So that one will never receive again.
Since yours is intermitant I don't know what to think.
Check the connections on pins 1 and 2 of the vocon/rf board connector.
They are the pins nearest the edge of the board.
Those connections could be bad and the radio will still have transmitt.

Can you tell me how long it receives when it does?
Will a slight tap cause it to stop or start receiving?
When it stops receiving try using a 73.35mhz signal source to
see if the second IF if working or not.
