Batboard

I am trying to get this radio to do golay as a sub and need some help. I looked at the 9600 packet mod in batlabs and tried it but level was to low. So I used the same res/cap combo to insert it where flat transmit would normally be in a 16 pin unit and now the golay alerts the pagers but the analog voice is distorted but readable. Any ideas on how to clean the audio up? It isn't as good as it was when the unit was a Micor moble. Thanks in advance
