Horn/lights relay on spectra help

Post by 911-EMT »

I have a high power spectra with DB25 accessory connector, I’m trying to connect a relay for the horn/light option to make a on/off switch via mdc1200, could anybody recommend me witch pins to use, and would a SPST relay do the job or do I need a SPDT relay.

I used a Radio Shack 275-226 Auto Relay. Worked fine.
Pin 87 was 12V in, Pin 86 was VIP, Pin 85 was SWB+, and Pin 30 was 12V out.
I think thats how it went.

Thanks BikerScout for the info, but on the pin’s I have a hard time locating the VIP pin on the DB25 accessory plug, do you happen to remember the pin number?

VIP 1 is pin 12 (horn), VIP 2 is pin 3 (lights) and SWB+ is pin 4.

Thanks again BikerScout for the info, but are you referring to the DB15 on the Lo/mid power units or on the high power with the DB25 connectors? The pinouts or deferent .

Oopps, My Bad. That was for the DB15. I have not done the DB25 yet so you'll have to get that from another member.
