Saber Astro Vehicle Adapter revisited....

Post by ev351 »

Hello everyone,

I am a very new poster here, but have been doing a lot of research on the AVA unit, I have just managed to purchase one.. beleive it or not BRAND NEW, still in the box unused with full manuals etc...
So, If anyone wants to know anything about these things that i may be able to pull out of the manual then please ask away, as I will post anything that i can, What I would love to know is the pinout for the Y cable that lets you plug in the amplified speaker and the HHCH, as the sticker on the AVA states the serial No. ranges that the HHCH is compatible with, and im lucky enough to have a radio that seems to fit the bill.

At present, I am hesitant to plug in the HHCH without the Y cable as im not sure if the pinout is different from ASTRO spectra or not, but for the record, the Manual says the HHCH part is HMN4404, So can anyone help with the location of the schematic for this elusive part, as i cannot find it on batlabs..

Thanks.

Mate, the manual states that u need a ASTRO digital SABER, SABER or SYSTEMS SABER to use in the AVA, (NTN7227B) and that the radio needs to be manufactured on or after September 1 1994, The serial numbers 5th digit must be 'U' or later, and if the serial numbers fifth digit is actually 'U' and not later, then the sixth digit must be 'S' or later, the manual then details the connection of the HLN4044 control mic, via the Y cable......

Can you get the manual scanned and email it to me. [email protected]

I'll see if I can get it posted so others may view it then.

Thanks

Jason
