HT 1250 Public Safety Mic Questions

Post by arlojanis »

Is the antenna the only difference between the UHF and Vhf mics?
The RF adaptor connector comes with a rubber washer. Is the washer for water seal, spacer, or vibration lock? I have a new VHF mic and the antenna is not radiating. An ohm meter shows no connection to the circuit board from the antenna threads. Is this a direct or a capacitor connection? Do public safety mics increase radio range much?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

yes, the antennae is the only difference between uhf and vhf. I don't think it's going to increase range at all, if you are using the stubby antennae it will probablly go down.
