Source for GTX900 HT antennas ?

Am I stuck paying 30 bux for an antenna, or is there anywhere
that sells them cheaper ?

They're not cheap but he has a good selection and fast delivery.
Or use a 3.11-inch piece of wire (902 mHz) adapted to an SMA connector. I've done that on the bench for FS testing.

I've seen this sort of post X times before, and if you can look past the markings on the antenna(Motorola 800) you CAN use the whip from an 800 radio on 900, it's actually the same antenna with a twist.
For grins, I ripped one for 900 and one for 800 apart a few years ago...and VOILA!...SAME WIRE inside, but the 800 did have a metallic 'ball' whereas the 900 whip didn't, but the SWR between the two was very close, and I've used them on 440 as well with excellent results no less!
Try it, you'll see it WILL work quite satisfactorily too.
That little 'ball' on the tip lengthens the antenna due to its width, but I have used that same whip on 900 without problems, and would do so again without hesitation.
Just my personal observations and experiences...YMMV.

Look for MTX-900s (& 800s/810s) on ebay. They're cheap ($25 or less), especially since they won't easily convert over to the 902-928 MHz ham band, but the antenna transfers over to the GTX family perfectly.
Just a thought.
