Just got a high powered spectra unit and it has a different power connector than the low powered units. Can anyone tell me the polarity of the power connector on the front? I have some bullet style crimp connectors that fit in those sockets perfectly, but not sure the polarity. I suppose I could pull out the ohm meter and see which plug has a dead short to the radio chassis, but I dont trust that (could be wired for positive chassis or something).

it's not worth frying the radio, get the right connector.

I agree, get the correct cable. If you pop the top cover off you would easily see that the left pin is ground and the right pin is positive (from looking at the front of the radio).
