astro saber programming question

I have a uhf astro saber that is set up for trunking.
I want to use it for conventional aplications.
Is there an easy way to disable the the trunking personalities so
I can use simplex and repeater frequencies?
There is a lot of stuff setup and I have tried deleting things from
the zones but keep getting loads of cps errors.
Can trunking and conventional coexist or do I have to weed out
all of the trunking mess?

They can co-exist just fine.
Just because a radio can do trunking doesn't mean you have to have trunking info set up in the zone/chan assignment.

Just don't assign any of the trunking talkgroups to any channels in the Zone/Channel Assignment screen and you'll never see them. Nobody's going to stun/kill your radio unless you attempt to affiliate with their system, and you can't do that without selecting a trunked talkgroup.

Well I just left everything intact. I put my conventional stuff in another zone.
Does that mean if by chance there was a trunked system nearby with the same system values it could zap my radio?

Only if you had talkgroups from it assigned to channels in the Zone/Channel Assignment and you physically selected one. You should be able to wipe out all of the talkgroups without getting any CPS errors.

I really know nothing about trunking. Do I just delete all the entries from the zone with trunking personalities? Seems like that's when I got all the errors.
