Intermittent Jedi Mics

Hello. I have here a couple Jedi Mics, model numbers : NMN6193B, and NMN6191A.

Both of them seem to have some wierd intermittent TX/RX problem, whereas sometimes they will both work fine, but if the mic cord is moved or slightly bent or anything, the RX will either sound really scratchy or not be present at all. On the TX side, the audio is either really scratchy,(or sounds really windy) really low, or none at all, but a carrier still present. This is with really local signals, so it is not a distance problem. Mics were tried both on HT1000/MTS and XTS radios. Problem still exists, and the connections are clean. I have tried a couple Public Safety mics on the HT1000 UHF and it sounds fine, so it's probably not the radios. Any ideas guys?

Thanks,
Ray.

Yep, failed cable... a piece of wire, even stranded, will only flex so many times before it breaks. You've got a broken conductor somewhere in the cable itself - this is very common.

You should be able to order just the cable from Mother M and save having to replace the entire unit.
