You need to have your Minitor checked to see what frequency it's set for.
If it's not set for 154.0100 you won't hear your station. You can get a radio
shop to do this for you, or maybe you have a radio mechanic at your
agency who can help you with this.

The instructions for changing or setting up tone reeds are well covered in
the Batlabs page you were given by K2HZ. First you should find out the
frequency of the tone reeds you need, and this can be done by the same
person who helps you with the frequency setup for the radio.

The receiver crystal and the tone reeds all just plug in, but they are
specific for your situation.

It is on the receiver circuit board. If you go to the Batlabs page in the link I gave you in my previous reply, there are photos of the receiver board if you click on the links called "Step 1", "Step 2" and "Step 3" in the discussion about adding a second channel.

well okay i took apart the reciever board and i see what looks like 2 crystals! one atacthed to the board next to a red cylinder type deal. and one covered bye a clear plastice thingy! what one is the frequency crstal and if i have 2 which one is the first frequency and which is the 2nd?

The channel crystal would be next to the single red coil shown in the "Step 1" picture on Batlabs. If it is a 2 channel unit, there would be a second red coil added covering the hole near the middle of the board and the channel 2 crystal would be next to that coil.

The crystal covered by clear plastic you mention is probably part of the low IF or discriminator and not a channel crystal.

Additionally the channel crystals may be different in appearance because they may have been swapped, modified, or added many times along the line, and one may be newer or of a completely different manufacture than the other at this point, the rubber hat may be white, red or clear or may have fallen off, who knows. One channel crystal is square with the board and the other is slightly angled.
