hey all, is it possible to convert an a5 d43kma7ja5bk to use and a9 system 9000 head?
would i need a new mlm or will bit banging do the trick.
i should ask this before i go out and buy a system 9000 head lol.

i already have all the parts to make it remote accept for the head.

also if it can be converted can i use the regular remote mount cable or do i need to buy a sysem 9000 cable.

thanks

Yes bitbanging will do it, and an A9 head requires the systems 9000 remote mount cable.

I'd get the 1063, look for 1073 as well. The ebay market has been flooded lately with these and they are CHEAP.

The Spectra remote cable is all that you need. Its not a systems 9000 remote cable, just a Spectra remote cable. The newer one, not the older one with the 15 pin connector dangle. A5 and A9 heads use the same cable. Don't forget to apply 12V to the green and orange wires or it won't power up. You can pitch the DB-15 accessory cable, or mod it for programming.

Also, the older A9 heads with DIP eeproms require that you ground the mike audio line or you won't be able to write to them.
