XTL5000 Problem
Hello. In my haste to install a new XTL5000, I could not get it to power up. It turns out I forgot the ignition sense wire. Now it works. One of them anyways. During my troubleshooting I crossed the red and black power wires and now the radio "really" doesn't work. Is this proble fixable? Can I do it myself? It is a brand new radio. Thanks in advance for your help. Henry

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
exactly which wires did you cross, the main power wire or the ignition sense wire? did you check all fuses?

Moved to the Astro fourm since its an astro radio....
What exactly do you mean crossed? Was the power on the P/S when you were screwing the wires in? Did you have excess wires coming off a cable touching the other post?
Chances are you fried the radio....and it may not be covered under warranty if Motorola determins that this is user error. If its still under warranty, send it back and cross your fingers.

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
