I have been in contact with Motorola about the software that I will need to program my ADSIII's and thay gave me a part # of RNV4100N / R06.00.05 cost $265.00 and a bunch of paperwork. Looking around on the boards I see that some are using other software to program there radios. Is there more software that I will need besides the one program?
The radios will only be used for field searches and some repeter use and one or two will be programed for ham use
Thanks

Correction: There should be 2. The actual CPS/RSS, and Tuner.

Whoa, wait, stop, and ignore Ray. First, what kind of radio are you trying to talk to? ADSIII = Astro Digital Spectra? If yes, are you sure the radio isn't an Astro Spectra PLUS or an XTL2500/5000?
OK, now that that's cleared up...
RVN4100 is the correct part number for the DOS ASTRO package, which has been out of date for several years (Moto having switched to Windows-based CPS lately). However, R06.00.05 is the right version number for the final release of the DOS-based analog Spectra software. Methinks something isn't right.
If you're trying to program Astro Spectras, you need the latest Astro Mobile CPS, R05.00.02. I believe the right part number is RVN4183S, and the Tuner (alignment software), which should be included, is RVN4184.

OK, then my advice was close.
You'll need RVN4182S, Astro Portable RSS R05.00.02 for Astro Saber/XTS3000. RVN4184S is the Tuner package (same as for the mobiles). List price is $276 for RVN4182.

Just got off the phone with Moto and you are dead on with the part number Thank you. It comes with both DOS and WIN
My next question is what computer should I run for this software?
Should I try to find a 486 running win95?
Should I run the DOS or WIN version?
Thanks

You're gonna want to use a fast computer running Windows for this CPS.

Just to confirm,
RVN4182S, Astro Portable RSS R05.00.02 does come with a DOS Version?
I thought that version 9.5 was the last DOS based software that was made for the Astro Saber/XTS3000.

DOS RSS hasn't been support since CPS 3 and above. CPS no longer comes with RSS.
