Hi all!

I need to use Monitor (left) button on HMN3000 with my CDM radio.

Now it just doesn't work - when I press it, nothing happens

I check CPS, but does not see anythig, which can enable this action.

Please help!

If the microphone is correctly wired and is the correct
microphone for the CDM the monitor button should work.
I don't know the CDM radio that well, but if it has a control
plug with jumpers like a Maxtrac you might be able to
enable the monitor function there. I had a problem with
a GTX using an ungrounded hand microphone. The radio
was in monitor condition all the time until I put a jumper
on the rear connector to cut off the monitor when the mic
was ungrounded, which it is all the time because I do not
use a hang up mic clip.

This is new microphone. Model HMN3000B - official option for Professional Series.

Not familiar with this mike in particular, but in general desk mikes for use with nominally mobile radios use the "off hook" pin to perform the monitor function. However, the CDM radio has to programmed for what the "off hook" function is to do: suspend scan ex. for priority? suspend all scan? defeat PL?

Thanks for info. Function Hook (HUB) Defeats PL really disable PL on receiving when left button pressed.

But what about opening CSQ? Any way to got it for pressing left button?

No, you have to program one of the front buttons for "monitor", with the "long press" as "open squelch".

I know it, but I am want to use left mic button for monitoring.

Most folks define "monitoring" in the LMR world as defeating PL, since the purpose is to detect off-tone or no-tone co-channel traffic, and defeating PL does that. I'm not aware of a way to define the off-hook state, which is what your "monitor" desk mike button addresses, as unsquelched receiver.

Nope. If you don't want it to work, you need to physically unplug it in the control head.

You could always program it for Handset in the accessory configuration, that should only give you audio out the mic plug and on pin 11 of the acc plug unless you need external speaker audio out of pins 1/16 ?

I try it. But enabled "Handset" option has shutted down audio output from ACC connecttor. But I am need in it.

What is your reason for not wanting audio out the front of the CDM? If you pop the front display off you can unplug the speaker from the circuit board as stated by wavetar. Or use pin 11 & 7 for external audio if you are using some sort of remote and set the CDM for handset.

I already use rear ACC connector for audio output.

Not useful for me, because sometimes I need in audio output from built-in speaker, but sometimes from rear ACC connector.

Using an external speaker of the rear accessory jack and the internal speaker is still active? I thought they were like the Maxtrac/Radius line, one or the other.

No. I use NOT a external speaker. I use external audio accessory.

Built-in speaker not mutes in this case. And I cannot rotate VOL knob fully CCW, because VOL knob affects to volume from external audio accessory.

You generally right. But not in this case. Volume of my Moto accessory depends! Yes! This is not bug, this is by design and described in supplied paper.

Speaker microphone.

The info i was able to find says that pin 11 off the CDM series is Flat RX audio and not affected by the volume control.

I don't know which pin uses this accessory, but it works as described.
