My brother (K7COM) and I have obtained a surplus FAA C73RXB3106 repeater. It's set for 172.95T/169.35R. We want to put it on the VHF ham band. Besides changing the xtals and retuning the duplexer, what else will be needed to be done?

The bandsplit on that radio is 162-174. The receiver will need major work on the front end and multiplier circuits to go down to 2M. The TX may also need some modification.

Tnx for the quick response.
Hmm, probably too time consuming for my brother and I (as I'm in Japan most of the time.) Maybe we should list on eBay and use the proceeds towards acquiring a repeater that would require fewere mods. Any offers out there before we list it? It was never put in service, so it's "new" in a manner of speaking. I see from some archive posts on repeater-mods and elsewhere, these units usually sell for $300-$500.

Another option would be to get aproper split Micor mobile, and change the modules over.
