I have removed the belt clip and the RJ45 connector.
Now....
Is there a particular way I can open this microphone to clean all the crap out of it.
I've looked for some type of retaining fastener to no avail.
I am trying to do this with minimal damage to the plastic housing. ( I don't want screwdriver gashes in the joins)

sorry to say but the JEDI mic's are not serviceable. they are sealed and realy shouldint be taken apart. i have taken one apart by prying along the side and was lucky that it came apart as easy as it did but thats usualy not the case on most JEDI mic's. you usualy will do some severe damage trying to open one. so look at it this way, if there is something wrong with it try and open it and if all else fails get a new one. if the one you have is broken then its no good either way.

p.s. when i opened one i used a very thin bead of crazy glue and held it in a vise. worked very well. i did it over a year ago and the mic's been in fire department service getting the crap kicked out of it with no problems.

Take the mic and place it on edge on a rag to keep from damaging that side from hitting the table/bench, and then use a rubber mallet to smack it a few times on the top edge. I have opened a few like this, takes some time smacking it all the way around the seam, but it will pop in a few places and then you can use a thin blade or razor knife to work the spots that didn't pop apart.

Make your repairs and then use some super glue gel around the seam and put it back together. The trick is to not use too much glue to cause it to squeeze out and cause ugly white super glue haze.

They pop open fairly easily in a bench vise, I've probably fixed a hundred or more over the years. Use a quality epoxy to put them back together & you'll be good to go.
