I know this is off topic. But I've searched and searched and I can't seem to find the instructions on how to program these from the side buttons. I know you can change the frequency and PL code in the radios by a combination of presses of the side button and PTT switch, but I don't know exactly what order to press, what the beeps mean, etc.

Does anyone have the instructions handy or the know-how off the top of your head on how to do this?

I know these can be programmed with a cable and software as well, but I've loaned that cable out and will not have it for another week or so.

Thanks much. Sorry for the off topic post......but I'm quite certian someone here will have the info I need.

As far as I know, you can NOT change PL or frequency with the side buttons.

You can however program in 8 freqs with PL with the KPG48D CPS, and then using the side buttons select from these 8 programmed freqs.

If you want to, add a small toggle switch on the top of the TK-3100, and then you can switch between 2 channels. Additional wiring is needed to do this of course. Just converted my 3100 to a 2 channel version :)

I just posted how to do this on the other radio info board. Check Kenwwod Commercial forum.

Stay well :D

ps I built my programing calbe with 2 transistors and a few resistors, diodes, and one zener - works like a champ.
