Made in July of 1996 according to the stickers inside. The receive cuts out/pops when certain voice syllables are spoken from the receiving station. This only happens when DOS (Data Operated Squelch) is enabled. It cuts out really bad when DOS is set to 1800 Hz only. It does it when DOS is set to 1200/1800 Hz as well, but not as bad. <br>Is there a part that has went bad or is there a setting that adjusts the sensitivity/ tone recognization of DOS? Some type of Audio Filter chip that might be bad or going bad? Anyone else had similar problems with Jedi radios and their Data Operated Squelch cutting off/popping during receive other than when it supposed to?

Can't say I've heard of it before. Are you using MDC signalling?

Yes. I am using MDC and I hate to hear data so I want to keep DOS enabled, but the receive audio cuts out/pops for like 1/10th of a second when certain syllables are said by certain people. Since our voice is in this range of 1200 and 1800 Hz, it seems like the radio is thinking that certain voice syllables are DOS and it cuts out for that 1/10th of a second. I dont know if a part is going bad or somehow the DOS sensitivity is set too sensitive. It is very annoying =(
