SRN1521
SUBJECT: XTS5000, XTS2500, XTL5000/2500, Astro Spectra Plus, 3600 Baud Systems, System Access in Low Signal Areas or When Patching Calls
MODELS AFFECTED: Radios configured for a Type II 3600 trunking system and programmed with R07.00.01 Host/DSP or earlier and shipped prior to 1-Mar-2006
NOTE: Portable radios have a higher probability of experiencing access failures due to the differences in antenna configurations between a portable and mobile radio.
SERIAL RANGE: Affected serial number range is xxxxGDxxxx and earlier.
SYMPTOMS:
1. The radio emits a short bonk followed by an unmuted speaker after the user initiates a group call request by pressing PTT.
2. The radio is unable to consistently gain system access in poor coverage areas where legacy products work acceptably.
3. The radio emits a short bonk followed by an unmuted speaker after attempting to respond to an in-progress Patch call by pressing PTT.
4. The radio is unable to consistently respond to the dispatcher during Patched talkgroup calls.
CAUSE: A defect has been identified in the software.
RESOLUTION: Upgrade the radio firmware to Host R07.01.00/ DSP R07.01.01 or later.

it also fixed the 512 channel vs newer 850 channel cloning problems. In the past if you were using R07.00.00 and had a ton of 512 channel radios and then started receiving the newer 850 channel models, you were unable to do a clone from a 512 channel radios codeplug.

What type of problem are you having with your 5000?

Two problems (if they are problems) with the CPS R07.00.01 when I went from a DSP/Host R06.something to DSP/Host R07.01.01 and with a Q53 FPP option flash on several XTS5k's is :
1- I had eight personalities that covered 400 modes/channels and it reduced the modes/channels to 240 and converted my eight personalities to 240 personalities. I know that channel capacity is reduced with the Q53 option but, the conversion to 240 personalites is ponderous. It really slows the CPS software down.
2- One XTS5 does not display the FPP option in the menu items even though when you read the radio it's feature set lists the Q53.
What gives?

Everything works perfect.... UNTIL I add MDC to any personality. When MDC-1200 is added, the radio reboots when you PTT on any personality with MDC. Strange isn't it

Ya, I'm at a loss with this whole MDC thing. I have elected to disable everything associated with MDC untill I get this figured out. BTW, I have the FPP version
