Motorola Mic Problems?

Have a Maxrac/Radius Mic HMN 1056D Cuts out when you TX it up, anyone know anything about this?Thanks

Dirty mic contacts at the RJ-45 is the typical culprit, check for corrosion on the radio side/mic RJ45, that or there is a break in the wiring of the mic-cord in which case a replacement cord would be required, although it'd likely be cheaper to buy a different/used mic from eBay.

I don't even bother replacing the cords on those, I've found that by the time the mics are old enough for the cord to go bad, the hang up is pretty much shot also. I've also seen the PTT switch go bad.
If you've got another mic, or can borrow one, try swapping it to see if it's really the mic that's bad, or a problem with the radio.

The part# for the replacement cord is HLN9559A. It's not expensive...retail price in Canada is only about $11.00
