Hello,

I have a Telex MM900 and EM200 that I use with cables to adapt them to the HT1000 and Icom 2 pin; both MM900 and EM200 boxes feature a 6 pin Hirose out (the adapter cables are 6 pin hirose male -> radio).

My question is this: if I could find a double male end Hirose cable, could I just plug the MM900 or EM 200 straight into a Hirose audio adapter for say the Saber series? Telex wants $190 for a 6 pin Hirose -> Saber end, I'm hoping to circumvent that with this. Anyone ever done such a thing, and does anyone know where I could get a double Hirose end cable? thanks

In my limited experience with the Telex PTT boxes, they are wired specific for the radios they will be connected to. As the Saber requires an Option Select voltage to tell the radio to use the external accessory, I am not certain it would just "work". The hirose adapter on the saber provides a voltage regulator that will provide the option select, but it must be grounded inside the Telex box somewhere. So it "might" be possible to build a cable transferring the saber hirose 6 pin "snap-on" style connector to the Telex 6 pin screw on type connector, but you would have to determine the pinouts of each end.

The Telex EM200 that I have with saber specific internals also only uses 4 pins of its 6 pin conenctor, unlike the saber hirose connector that uses all 6. I was able to make a hirose cable for it, but if I recall correctly I had to do some creative wiring inside the saber hirose connector.
