Analog Spectra RF Modem

What made the analog Spectra RF Modem different from any other Spectra?
Specifically, what would be the difference between these two models?
D35ZXA5JC5AK (800MHz 'C5' SmartNet mobile) and
D35KGA5JC2AKSP01 (800MHz Spectra RF Modem)
'C2' means limited, yet it still has a 'C5' head.
Was the Spectra used for the RF MODEM any different hardware wise (ie. crippled Tx capability, different DB-15 pinouts)?
