Spectra Trunk Mount Programming Question

I have a couple of spectras that are trunk mount, 50watts. Model D43KXA7JA4AK. Just wondering which cable is used to program this model, high or low power cable.

After determining that, where does the programming cable plug in, the 15 pin on the back of the radio or the extra 25pin on the front.

Thanks,

Jamie

If it has the dual db25 on the front and the 15 pin port in the back then you can use either or for programming.

And if you use the 15-pin connector, it is NOT necessary to bring power to Pin 5 (as it would be for a dash mount mid-power Spectra).

in reference to your programming question, the model number D43 tells me that it is a dash mount radio. It might have a remote mount kit installed on it to trunk mount the main radio unit , but the radio still knows that it is a dash radio. Use your low power programming cable and go to the 15 pin connection at the rear of the radio. you might also tie to the power connection, if the radio requires a ignition line.

i have dash mount spectra's that have been converted to trunk mount and i use the extra 25 pin connector in the front to program them. I believe you can use either one as they tie together internally.
